Clarity 6.2 is a compact full-range system that achieves remarkably low distortion levels and linear sound reproduction throughout the audible frequency band. This is a result of meticulous engineering and advanced technical features, including the following:
- Purifi Ushindi technology: Groundbreaking transducer technology that delivers impressive dynamics and linearity with minimal distortion, at all volume levels. Clarity 6.2 uses Purifi Ushindi woofers both for the active woofer as well as the two passive radiators on the sides.
- Proprietary AMT Tweeter: Exclusive to the Lyngdorf group, providing effortless high-frequency performance despite a naturally narrow vertical dispersion.
- Custom dual-purpose waveguide: The custom waveguide ensures dispersion is consistent from the crossover point between the woofer and tweeter all the way up into the highest audible frequencies.
- Advanced Cabinet Construction: A reinforced and braced cabinet bonded to a 15 mm CNC machined aluminum front baffle results in a structurally rigid construction with minimal resonance.
Following our Scandinavian acoustic philosophy, Clarity 6.2 is optimized for typical living spaces that are not overly dampened. In heavily dampened rooms soundstage and tonal balance may be altered. Given its impressive bass extension, Clarity 6.2 is best suited for medium to large rooms. In very small rooms, the extended low-frequency output may interact more strongly with the room itself, while larger spaces allow the speaker to deliver a more effortless, balanced and immersive presentation.
- Listening position distance: Given its compact size, driver configuration and overall performance, Clarity 6.2 works well for either near or far field listening.
- Vertical alignment: For optimal performance, the AMT tweeter should be pointing towards ear level. This can easily be achieved via our Clarity stands and the included angle plates.
- Horizontal alignment: The custom waveguide ensures sound performance is consistent from an on-axis angle to 30° off-axis. Angling the speakers towards the listening position (toe-in) is not required in most cases. A no toe-in setup may in some scenarios provide a bigger soundstage. We encourage you to experiment with toe-in to find the best result for your specific environment and taste. We have designed the Clarity 6.2 speaker with even horizontal dispersion in mind, aiming to create as wide a sweet spot as possible.
Reference position for measurements is: 1 meter distance, at tweeter height and 20 degrees off-axis horizontally.
We recommend pairing Clarity 6.2 with high-quality, low distortion and high current amplification rated at 100 watts (4ohm) or above to enable its dynamic capabilities.
If you optimize the response for on-axis listening, then invariably all other angles will have too little HF and also the reflections will have a different timbre than the direct sound. Our experience in connection with developing the Room Correction systems—since the Snell RCS in 1992, through TACT Audio and finally Lyngdorf Room Perfect—has shown that the perceived HF level depends much more on total energy rather than direct energy. As the AMT with waveguide has a rather limited vertical dispersion it then follows that the response on-axis will be hot.
