MEASUREMENTS
The Clarity speakers were measured at a height of 3.7 m above the floor in a large hall using PURIFI’s proprietary measurement setup. A calibrated GRAS 46AC microphone was used.
CLARITY 4.2 SPL & IMPEDANCE
The free field measurement at 2.5 m distance and near-field as well as mic-in-the-box measurements were post-processed to a synthesized anechoic SPL response with high resolution down to below 20Hz.
CLARITY 4.2 HORIZONTAL POLAR RESPONSE
The horizontal polar response at the tweeter height was recorded in 10-degree steps. The plot shows the response normalized to the Listening Window (i.e. average over 0-30 deg).

What does “low distortion” mean in practice?
Low distortion means hearing more of the music and less of the loudspeaker itself.
In practice, a low-distortion loudspeaker reproduces sound with greater clarity, precision and control, even at higher listening levels. Vocals retain their natural character, instruments remain clearly separated, and bass stays articulate and controlled without sounding compressed or exaggerated.
It also contributes to a more effortless and immersive listening experience. Complex recordings remain open and coherent, while subtle details and dynamic contrasts are reproduced with greater realism and transparency. Because the speakers add less unwanted coloration and compression, the presentation remains relaxed and natural over longer listening sessions.
How do the Clarity speakers compare sonically?
All three loudspeaker models share the same Radiant Acoustics DNA: ultra-low distortion, exceptional clarity, natural tonal balance and wide, immersive sound staging. The difference is not in philosophy, but in scale, bass extension and dynamic capability.

Building on the strengths of the 4.2, the slightly larger Clarity 6.2 delivers greater scale, deeper bass and a more effortless presentation. Compared to the more compact 4.2, it offers increased bass authority and weight, greater dynamic headroom and a fuller, more relaxed sound while retaining the speed, precision and low-distortion character of the Clarity series. Ideal for medium-to-large rooms.
Clarity 66
Clarity 66 is our full-range floor-standing loudspeaker, designed to reproduce music with maximum realism, authority and emotional impact. Compared to the stand-mount models, it delivers significantly deeper and more physical bass, larger-scale imaging and soundstage, and greater dynamic realism at all listening levels. What room size suits Clarity 4.2?
Clarity 4.2 typically suits small-to-medium sized rooms such as living rooms, offices, bedrooms and studios.

What amplification do I need for Clarity 4.2?
Clarity 4.2 is best paired with a high-quality, low-distortion amplifier featuring at least 100 watts per channel in 4ohm. Pairing it with equally clean amplification preserves the speaker’s exceptionally low distortion characteristics and allows it to deliver the highest possible resolution and transparency.
78 dB sensitivity—should you be concerned?
Clarity 4.2 features a sensitivity of 78 dB / 1 m @ Vrms = 2.83 V. While the specification may appear intimidating when viewed in isolation, it becomes far less concerning when considered within the listening environments and use cases Clarity 4.2 is specifically engineered for.When looking at the demands a speaker has on an amplifier (such as speaker sensitivity), it is crucial that we also consider other parameters that affect perceived volume level, as these will influence what volume you ultimately set on the amplifier. Most notable among these are the distance between speakers and listening position as well as the acoustic influence of the room in terms of sound pressure levels (SPL).
All speaker designs have compromises and one of the ones we chose with Clarity 4.2 is sensitivity. Since Clarity 4.2 is specifically designed and engineered for smaller spaces, we have optimized the performance to excel in these spaces. In these environments, sound pressure is maintained more effectively than in larger rooms, and listeners are typically seated closer to the speakers. Together, these factors significantly reduce the power required to achieve realistic listening levels. The result is a 4” ultra-compact speaker that reaches far down in bass extension with exceedingly low distortion that still has enough headroom for the type of rooms it is intended for. If you have a medium-to-large-sized space or need additional (volume) headroom, Clarity 6.2 may be a better fit.
Placement recommendations
Clarity 4.2 has been engineered to perform best in typical, “Scandinavian”-style living rooms that are not overly dampened. In a heavily acoustically treated room, the sound performance will likely be altered.
Listening distance
Clarity 4.2 can be used in either a near-field or a far-field setup.
Horizontal alignment
Clarity 4.2 is designed for optimal performance on-axis. This means that the speakers should be pointed towards the listener. However, what kind of room the speakers are placed in, will strongly influence the sound. Your preference may therefore depend on your specific room. We encourage you to experiment with horizontal speaker angle to find what works best for your preferences and space.
Vertical alignment
The vertical angle of the tweeter should always point towards ear level for best performance. We have developed separate angled top plates for Clarity 4.2 when used with the Clarity Stands to achieve proper vertical positioning. The Clarity 4.2 top plates come free of charge when purchased with a set of Clarity Stands.
Room boundary proximity
Clarity 4.2 is less sensitive to wall proximity than traditional rear-ported speakers thanks to its passive radiator design, meaning it can generally be placed closer to the wall. Optimal results still depend on your room’s acoustic influence. In typical setups Clarity 4.2 can be closed as close as 10 cm from a wall. We encourage you to experiment with the range 10-30 cm / 4-12” to find your optimal position.
Break-in time
Our loudspeakers do not have any “break-in” period. Clarity 4.2 should perform optimally right out of the box.
